West Ham are reported as having made a €15 million move for Slavia Prague’s Tomas Soucek.

The Guardian reports that a firm bid has been put in for the central midfielder but that his club are looking for €20 million. Hopefully  €18 million deal is on the cards.

The 24 year old can also play at centre back and has scored eight times in 17 appearances this season including Champions League games.

He is essentially a central midfielder who can play a DM role and there are now hopes that he can be tempted into the club before the deadline as David Moyes desperately moves to make additions to the squad.

The manager has said on various occasions that he needs players who will make an immediate difference and the highly rated Soucek could become a valuable addition before the window closes.

Meanwhile former boss Slaven Bilic -speaking after yesterday#s defeat of the Irons made it clear he believes the new Hammers boss can save the club from relegation.

He said: “David can do that. The players have to do it. They have done it before and they have to do it now. Now what is very important is the crowd recognise the situation, be behind the team and be behind the club.”
