West Ham are exploring a deal to sign midfielder Tomas Soucek from Slavia Prague according to a report by Sam Inkersole in football.london.

The 24-year-old midfielder is valued at around €25m by his club but the Hammers have been told they could get him for half that if a deal can be struck. They are confident they can agree an initial loan deal with an option to buy at the end of the campaign but nothing has been agreed yet. Soucek has scored ten goals so far this season, eight in the Fortuna Liga, for Prague and plays effectively as a number six or eight in the midfield so could slot in alongside Declan Rice.

Tomáš Souček has made the central defensive midfield his own for ‘The red and whites’.  During buildup Souček often moves back and forms a three-man backline to open up passing lanes for his goalkeeper and centre-backs and pushes the attacking full-backs up. The other midfielders Hušbauer and Stanciu drop deep from their usual position to carry out fluid passing from the back  Souček doesn’t play a lot of long balls and his passing accuracy is commendable.

Trpišovský loves to play in 4-1-4-1. However, as the match progresses, this formation may mislead a person. Slavia loves to play with a dynamic midfield with the three midfielders often changing positions especially Souček and Hušbauer During the buildup, generally, Souček stations himself as the third centre-back to open the passing lanes for his defenders.
