West Ham are claimed to have identified a potential central defensive recruit in the winter window.

The manager has made it clear that much is going to depend on Kurt Zouma’s likely return which some are predicting could be as soon as the end of this month.

But in the meantime – according to The Athletic, per Hammers News, David Moyes is set to go shopping in one of his favourite areas – the Championship!

Word is that he – along presumably with chief scout Rob Newman  – is keen to recruit Queens Park Rangers giant Rob Dickie.

If one wanted to be cynical a new central defender to perhaps replace Issa Diop wouldn’t be a bad idea anyway given the Frenchman’s current form.

Dickie stands at 6ft 4in and has been in deeply impressive form for the south west London outfit where he has already made 23 appearances this season.

He is a typical a Moyes type player – very uncompromising and a strong tackler.
