West Ham are this morning reported to have made their first formal inquiry for Bournemouth’s Harry Arter.

The Cherries midfielder is well known to be on David Moyes’ wanted list as he bids to strengthen the team for the second half of the season.

Republic of Ireland international Arter has been in and out of Eddie Howe’s  side this season and has only appeared in 10 League games so far.

As we reported, he only signed a new four-year contract in July, but Bournemouth could be ready to sell as they need to recoup funds.

The Express claims West Ham made an initial inquiry for Arter this week but were rebuffed. However Moyes, determined to get his man, is set to go back in when the window opens.”

However, the manager has warned that whilst he wants to add players to the squad there are no guarantees and the odds are the club will need to go as high as £12 million to get their man.
