David Moyes may choose to keep Arthur Masuaku at the club, according to The Athletic.

There were reports suggesting that the left-back would be leaving the Irons this summer.

But the Athletic has now reported that he may well be kept around just to provide cover and depth beyond Aaron Cresswell.

Of course, the Hammers have also recently signed Nayef Aguerd, who can also play at left-back, so Masuaku would likely be a third-choice option.

Last season, he saw his playing time diminish and made 12 Premier League appearances in total.

He made just six starts throughout the top-flight season and his contract expires in 2024, meaning this summer is not the final chance the club have to receive a fee for him.

It remains to be seen if Masuaku will try to push for a move that would almost certainly offer greater playing time, but it seems as though the club’s plan has changed.
