Report: Hammers miss out on striker

West Ham appear to have lost out in the race for Inter Milan striker Gabigol.

The Irons have reportedly been regularly scouring the striker currently on loan at Brazilian outfit Flamengo where he has been scoring goals regularly.

The Hammers last took a look at him in the Club championship clash against Liverpool and have since reportedly offered to take the player on loan with an offer to buy permanently later at around £20 million.

But that’s of no use to Inter who are keen to sell now in order t move in on their own targets and it no seems more likely that they are likely to do a deal with Flamengo who have an offer on the table.

According to Italian outlet FcInterNews.it, West Ham have been in touch with a proposal for Gabigol, but it has not pleased Inter.

Inter have rejected the proposal as they want to sell Gabigol outright and are not keen on another loan with potentially no sale at the end of it.

However, these things have a habit of dragging on in the winter market and it’s possible the Hammers will come back with an alternative offer.

Most of the winter business gets done close to the deadline and after scouting the player for so long it would be surprising were the Irons to pull out entirely at this stage.
