West Ham target Kalvin Phillips has been linked with a move to Manchester City, per The Athletic.

The Hammers lodged a bid worth £50m for the defensive midfielder in the January transfer window.

However, it now appears that he is set to move to the Premier League champions from Leeds in the summer.

The report states that Leeds expect to receive a bid from City in the region of £45m to £50m for the midfielder, and he is said to be willing to push for the move.

City are said to have identified Phillips as a potential long-term replacement for Fernandinho, who is leaving the club at the age of 37.

Phillips has impressed throughout his time with Leeds and has developed into one of England’s foremost midfielders, playing for the national team throughout their run to the Euro 2020 final, and he is also likely to be included in the squad for the upcoming World Cup in Qatar later this year.
