West Ham are in the market to sign Lewis O’Brien from Huddersfield Town, according to a new report from TeamTALK.

The Hammers are said to have entered the race to secure O’Brien’s signature, after he was previously linked with a potential move to Leeds.

O’Brien is said to have a £12m release clause in his contract, meaning that he could be snapped up for a relatively low fee in the summer.

Leeds are said to still hold an interest in securing the midfielder, while there is also interest from Crystal Palace, Wolves, Burnley and Norwich.

The 23-year-old has been with Huddersfield since 2019, and has been a key member of the Championship side’s squad, making 30 appearances this season and scoring twice, while also laying on two assists.

It remains to be seen if the Hammers will formalise their interest with a bid, but any offer may well depend on how Huddersfield finish the season; they are currently fifth in the table and aiming to win promotion to the Premier League.
