Report: Hammers watch new Sporting Lisbon target

The Hammers and Arsenal are this morning reported to be tracking Sporting Lisbon right back Cristiano Piccini.

Despite relationships between the Portuguese club and the Hammers having been soured by the William Carvalho affair, there is a  possibility that we will make a move for the 25 year old in January.

The Irons are looking for a long term replacement for Pablo Zabaleta who has been in fine form since his arrival at the London Stadium.

And Piccini is seen as an upgrade on Sam Byram who has been struggling for game time since the former Manchester City man’s arrival.

Picini is contracted to Sporting until 2022 and is valued at £3 million by Sporting.
