West Ham are this afternoon (Tues) being reported as having told Manu Lanzini he is free to leave the club in January.

The news will come as no serious surprise to anybody given the player’s form over the last few months when he has been regularly subbed or been subbed by Said Benrahma.

Lanzini, 29, has been allegedly told he is free to leave in January, although it is understood a buyer before the summer transfer deadline.

The club has yet to confirm the report but with Flynn Downs, Benrahma, Fornals, Rice and Soucek available it seems reasonable to accept that a deal could well be done.

The Argentine midfielder joined the Hammers on loan in 2015 on loan before making the move permanent a year later for a fee in the region of £9.5 million.

Liverpool were reported to be interested at one stage but no bid was forthcoming and it is likely should a club come in the Hammers will get back what they spend on the player.
