Report: Irons back in for PL hotshot

West Ham remain admirers of Ivan Toney at Brentford and could launch a summer bid to sign the striker, according to a new report.

90min reports that the striker wants to sign a new contract at the Bees but is hopeful of receiving a bumper pay rise, that would reflect the fact that he is now a proven Premier League player.

Toney has been in exceptional form at times this season and has scored 12 goals throughout the campaign.

That makes him the joint-highest scoring Englishman in the league, alongside Spurs and England star Harry Kane.

The Hammers are said to be keeping tabs on his situation at Brentford ahead of a potential move, should his contract talks fall through.

Arsenal, Everton, Newcastle and Wolves are also keeping tabs on the situation and could make a move of their own, but he would be an expensive acquisition.

Toney’s current deal runs until 2025 but he would like to see his wages increase.

If Brentford were forced to sell, they would demand around £50m.
