We have been saying it for many years of course but never more loudly than in 2023 – fans figure last and money first in football.
That is more the case with some clubs than others on the basis of new research carried out by Kingcasinobonus.uk, who conducted the research and warned: “Many fans have begun to be priced out.”
There appears to be no recognition of the cost of living crisis and the Hammers find themselves in an unwanted top ten showing the appalling costs of going to a match having bought a replica top and including the price of a pint, pie, parking which comes out an an average £126.71.
The Hammers are reckoned to be the sixth most expensive club to follow with tops costing either £70 or £65 whilst a pint is £7.60 at West Ham and £3 at Manchester United.
The Hammers are also the worst for pies, at £6.
