Report: Irons set for Giroud raid

West Ham are tonight being reported as ready to make a move for  Olivier Giroud.

The striker has made it clear recently he won’t settle for another year with such limited playing time” at the Emirates.

He fell out of favour last season when Alexis Sanchez was often preferred through the middle, and Arsene Wenger went with Danny Welbeck ahead of Giroud in the FA Cup final.

The 30 year old has attracted interest from Marseilles and several clubs in Italy, but the Hammers are reported ready to join the chase at around £20 million.

The Irons have good links into Arsenal which were established at the time Carl Jenkinson came to the club on loan.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger and chief executive Ivan Gazidis were in Nice last week, reportedly talking to Lyon president Jean Michael-Aulas about Alexandre Lacazette
