Real Madrid are this afternoon reported to be plotting a move for West Ham’s record signing Felipe Anderson.

Sky Sports News claim that should the Spanish giant fail in their to land their number one transfer target Eden Hazard.

They claim Chelsea have already rejected an offer from Real of around £60m for Hazard earlier this month, making it clear they will only entertain offers closer to double that figure.

Hazard is out of contract next June and has so far turned down offers of a new contract.

The report adds: “However, with a ban on transfer business looming at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea may choose to ignore Real’s offers and keep their prized asset for another season.

Zinedine Zidane is back at Real Madrid, following Julen Lopetegui and Santiago Solari’s unsuccessful stints in charge

And it’s this policy which has prompted Real’s returning head coach Zinedine Zidane to target Anderson in a deal likely to be worth around £65m.”

Claretand Hugh says: Quite what the strength of the SSN story is must be debatable. There are no quotes attributed gives it the feels of a flier.  It also seems unlikely that Manuel Pellegrini – having insisted the Hammers board break their previous record by £10 million plus last summer – will be in any mood to allow even Real to have a run at Anderson who has just been recalled to the Brazilian squad. He has made it clear that Anderson and Lanzini are players that he wants to build the Hammers team around and to sell him at the end of a season takes a giant leap of the imagination. With Hazard worth £65m to them apparently it seems hughly unlikely that Real would go higher for Anderson who despite some frustrating performances this term  has featured in all 31 of West Ham’s league games this season, scoring eight goals and making six.
