Tottenham have moved in on Alexandre Lacazette in a bid to beat off further competition from the Irons and Paris St Germain.

However, it seems that Daniel Levy is staking much on the club’s ‘name’ as currently he is believed to have bid just £24m, hoping the player will be wooed by the prospect of Champions League football

That would be around £2m short of the Hammers failed bid although Spurs’ negotiators believe they are getting the right vibes from the player’s advisers.

The Mirror reports that Tottenham are looking to provide competition and back-up for first choice Harry Kane, which may be a concern to Lacazette, although Mauricio Pochettino could also use them as a pair.

However, news that Spurs are allegedly on the case will be bound to re-ignite David Sullivan’s attempts to land the Frenchman.

He’s a hard man to stop once he believes there’s a chance of landing the players he’s after and Lacazette has been Number One on the club’s wanted list for a long time.
