A new report published today claims that Manchester United will want £20 million for Jesse Lingard in the summer

Eurosport are making the claim on a player who has scored three goals and supplied one assist from the five goals he has so far played on loan for us.

It’s clear that Lingard is keen to get away from Old Trafford where he has been since he was a  six-year-old and from everything we have seen or heard from him the Irons would be his choice of destination.

But whether United will get their price for a guy with just a year left on his deal is more than debatable and to get it from us would probably see the Hammers raising the cash from a player sale.

That could be either of Felipe Anderson or Manu Lanzini with Lingard seeming more than keen to link up permanently with David Moyes and the Irons.

The Hammers paid £1.5 million as a loan fee and are picking up his £2.5m wage deal currently.

So it’s pretty clear that they will do all in their power to make a permanent deal happen in the summer.
