West Ham have held preliminary talks over the potential signing of Liverpool forward Divock Origi, according to a report according to TeamTalk.

This summer could be the end of Origi’s long association with Liverpool. He has rarely been a regular starter in his five full seasons with the club either side of loan spells away. If Liverpool looks to sign another attacker, the Belgian may make way this summer and is valued at £20m.

David Moyes is desperate to land a striker before the end of the month when the transfer window closes but is struggling to land any of his targets.

With time running out he is likely to cast the net wider rather than risk Michail Antonio until January with a loan deal another possible outcome.

Moyes sanctioned the sale of Sebastien Haller to Ajax in January for £20m and he has yet to replace him. It didn’t affect the Hammers too much last season, as they still went on to secure Europa League group stage qualification after finishing sixth but he knows he can carry on forever without any cover upfront.
