Report: West Ham monitoring £20m striker

Fresh reports suggest West Ham are among the clubs keen on West Bromwich Albion striker Jay Rodriguez, according to Sky Sports this morning. The Hammers are said to be monitoring developments, along with Crystal Palace, Bournemouth and Burnley.

Rodriguez scored 11 goals in 42 games in his first season at West Brom, where he has three years left on his contract.

The 28-year-old, who cost around £12 million from Southampton last summer but West Brom are said to want at least £20 million should they decide to part with the striker.   Rodriguez started his career as a trainee at Burnley before moving to Southampton in 2012.

It was at Turf Moor where he worked alongside current Bournemouth chief Eddie Howe and the pair remain close.

However, the Baggies say they are yet to receive any contact from any interested parties and do not have any plans to sell Rodriguez.  Rodriguez has one cap for England, making his only appearance in 2013 when starting a friendly against Chile at Wembley
