West Ham transfer target Matthew Bondswell has terminated his contract with RB Leipzig, a report claims.

Bondswell had been in Germany since 2018, when he joined Leipzig’s academy from Nottingham Forest.

He has yet to make a senior appearance for the German club and spent the first half of this season out on loan in the Netherlands with FC Dordrecht.

Making seven appearances for the Dutch second-tier side, Bondswell has begun to step into senior football. His chances of making it back into the first team at Leipzig seem unlikely.

The report by Football Insider claims that West Ham and Leeds United target is in talks to join a Premier League club after quitting RB Leipzig

However it should be noted that it was also Football Insider who suggested that the England Under-18 defender was headed to West Ham on a plane for a medical after agreeing the terms of a move in the winter transfer window.

The teenager who turns 19 in April was in the Nottingham Forest youth ranks for eight years before his transfer in 2018.
