Turkish side Fenerbahçe are claimed to eyeing up a move for West Ham United forward Andriy Yarmolenko in the January transfer window.

The country’s newspaper Fotomac claims the club want to clinch a loan deal but we’ve yet to see any Turkish media report actually prove to correct for as long as CandH has been around.

Apparently sporting director Emre Belözoğlu is currently exploring the situation and the speculation at this stage is that he wants to take the Ukranian in a loan deal.

Given the size of the Hammers squad and that Yarmolenkohas been included in the squad throughout most of the season so far it looks very unlikely that any deal could be done.

Belözoğlu is understood to be looking to strengthen his side’s forward line and find a replacement for  former Hammers Enner Valencia and has already started ‘preliminary studies’ of  targets.

ClaretandHugh says: Unless the Hammers are planning on bringing in a new right sided wide man – which has never been one of the positions named as a Moyes priority, this is not going to happen. Yarmolenko can definitely be a  hit and miss operator but is an essential member of the squad given any injury problems. As mentioned above these Turkish rumours are about as unreliable as it gets and we would give long odds on an approach even being made – never mind being agreed.
