Hammer Andriy Yarmolenko and Ukraine booked their place in the quarter-finals against fellow Hammer Declan Rice and England.

Ukraine went ahead thanks to an assist by Yarmolemko only for Sweden to equalise just before halftime, it remained at a deadlock in the second half and also extra time. It looked like it was heading for penalties until Ukraine scored the winner in added time of the second period of extra time.

By then Yarmolenko had already been substituted potentially injured. He went off late in the second half of the extra half but hopefully, he can recover in time for the Saturday game against England.

Andriy Yarmolenko has scored (two) and assisted (three) five of Ukraine’s seven European Championship goals.

Ukraine suffered a number of injuries during the game and will be tired after the extra time but they will be no pushovers.

It is the first time they have qualified for the Euro quarter-finals and will love being the underdogs to try to turn over England.
