West Ham supporters at the London Stadium were furious that the Stadium operator LS185 failed to enforce a rule about no away shirts in the West Ham home end.  Many Spurs supporters had infiltrated the West Ham home stands this afternoon even though the game was supposed to be restricted to those with West Ham purchase history.  Some Spurs supporters were brazen enough to wear Tottenham shirts openly yet London Stadium stewards managed by LS185 did almost nothing and seemed oblivious to the problem and resentment it created.

This the second home game in a row that London Stadium have failed to act about away supporters wearing their team shirts in West Ham home areas and similar complaints were made by Hammers for the game against Manchester United.

In 2016 West Ham released a statement saying “We are fully committed to delivering the best possible matchday experience at our new home, and our Founders are playing a key role in making that even better. The Club reminds all matchday visitors that although fans are welcome to attend games wearing West Ham United shirts or the shirts/colours of that specific game’s away team, anybody attempting to enter the stadium wearing clothing associated with another football club will be refused entry, in order to ensure the safety of all supporters. We thank you for respecting this Club policy.”
