Journalist Fabrizio Romano has insisted that Spurs have not made a bid for Jesse Lingard.

Spurs have been linked with a potential move to sign the attacking midfielder on a free transfer after his exit from Manchester United.

Everton are also said to be in the race to secure his signature but it appears that Spurs have not yet made an offer for the 29-year-old.

Spurs have been very active this summer and have signed Fraser Forster, Ivan Perisic, Yves Bissouma and Richarlison thus far.

They are also said to be interested in signing Barcelona defender Clement Lenglet on loan and appear to be focusing on that deal.

Romano wrote on Twitter: Tottenham are hopeful of completing Clément Lenglet deal very soon. It’s considered matter of final details with Barcelona, after agreement reached on personal terms with French defender. No proposal on the table from Spurs to Jesse Lingard, as things stand.”

The Hammers are reported to have tabled an offer for Lingard and are awaiting a response from the player, but there appears to be real competition for his signature as the window carries on.

It remains to be seen if Spurs will formalise their interest.
