Rush for exit creates scary LS issue

Hammers fan and ClaretandHugh follower Robert Hargrave was involved in what could have been a scary moment at the London Stadium at the weekend as he and his wife tried to leave after Arsenal’s third goal.

Rob – who has a seat in block 248 and enters and leaves through turnstiles J or K explained that he noticed a real safety issue as he and his wife  tried to get out of the stadium.

He said: “As we tries to leave after the third Arsenal goal, there was a mad rush for the exit  but only one door of the exit gates at our designated block was available and there was hundreds trying to get through the one way out!

Some were  were trying to open the other doors on this gate but they couldn’t release them.”

Rob was shocked when he finally got through to find there as just one steward on duty and said: ” “He didn’t appear to have a clue what to do.”

“There were children being pushed by the crowd behind through this one door along with my pregnant wife! Imagine if there was an emergency.”
