Safe standing still a possibility at the London Stadium
The laws against persistent standing in English football are expected to be relaxed in the coming months.
Earlier this year Wolves became the first Premier League club to install various safe-standing options at Molineux. A mix of rail seats and seats with separate barriers have been installed in an unused block of the Billy Wright Stand to show fans and the local Safety Advisory Group how they would work when the law banning persistent standing is dropped.
In February this year West Ham and London Stadium owners LLDC released a joint statement saying they were currently exploring some changes which they believe will improve the seating and experience of supporters in the Sir Trevor Brooking and Bobby Moore Stands by bringing fans closer to the action.
The club and stadium owners have been quiet since that winter announcement but it possible that rail seats could be incorporated in that design should the law change and the timing and financials be viable. The talks on safe standing at the London Stadium are at extremely stage.
