Sam and Diafra scoop October awards

Sam Allardyce and Diafra Sakho have scored an amazing double scooping the October Barclays Premier League Manager and Player of the Month awards.

The manager has lifted the sixth Premier League Manager of the Month with the award in February 2014, when his West Ham team won all four matches to all but ensure their Barclays Premier League future.

Allardyce said: “I was delighted to be presented with the Barclays Manager of the Month award for October.It is an award I accepted gratefully on behalf of everybody at West Ham.

“The pinnacle of October was obviously beating Manchester City, but the most important thing was being able to put away two teams we were expected to beat in QPR and Burnley.

Sakho becomes just the fourth Hammers player to win Player of the month , following Stuart Pearce (February 2001), Anton Ferdinand (January 2006) and Scott Parker (February 2011).
