Hammer Carlos Sanchez refused to be loaned out for his final six months of his contract, instead opting to remain in London despite being told by David Moyes he was no longer in his plans.

As reported by Sam Inkesole on Football.London “There was interest from Turkish Super Lig side Antalayasport as well as Spanish trio Leganes, Huesca and Cadiz in taking on the midfielder on loan for the rest of the campaign. Sanchez was a £4m signing from Fiorentina in the summer of 2018 penning a two-year contract worth £65,000 a week.

The 33-year-old is out of contract this summer and has struggled with both serious injury and a lack of form during his 18 month stay in the capital so far.

Sanchez has made just six Premier League appearances so far this season having missed nine months of the last campaign with a knee ligament injury suffered in the Carabao Cup rout over Macclesfield last September.

The player will pick up another £1.36m in wages until his contract expires in another 21 weeks.
