The insider has confirmed another left back deal has fallen flat. We have already seen failed bids for Robbie Brady and Martin Olsson from Norwicj fail, now it appears a season loan deal for Inter Milan defender Davide Santon has gone pear shaped too.

Sky Sports  earlier claimed that the Hammers have now scrapped the deal in which they would have paid £460,000 to take the Italy international on loan for the season, with the option of making the move permanent next summer for £5million after an alleged failed medical.

The insider admits “Reports in the media have also suggested that the Club were close to securing a loan move for Inter Milan defender Davide Santon. But it is my understanding that the move has fallen through and the Club are now looking at other targets. With Aaron Cresswell ruled out for three to four months, the Club were not prepared to take any risks over signing another left back and hope for more news on another defender in the next few days”

However the Insider does admit that West Ham are due to make a major signing in the next 72 hours which is widely to be believed Andre Ayew. Sevilla striker Fernando Llorente has arrived at the Liberty Stadium to complete a move to Swansea  which in turn  will allow Andre Ayew to complete a £20m move to West Ham.

The insider adds “There looks to be more good news for Slaven Bilic as my sources have told me that the Club are set to make a substantial signing within the next 72 hours. The Club have been linked with a number of top forwards throughout the summer and they now look set to finally land one of their targets.”

No-one knows the true identity of the club’s insider and accordingly we have blacked out his eyes to protect his anonymity
