Hammer Gianluca Scamacca is expected to return to training this week after returning back from Italy.

The West Ham striker has been out with a knee injury for which he received a course of treatment that includes platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections.

The West Ham forward had his final knee injection nearly two weeks ago, but there was uncertainty over when he will be available for selection.

Scamacca remained in Italy to continue his rehabilitation after visiting a specialist in Rome having been injured in the January match against Wolves.

“The club hope that, having met with a specialist in Rome this week, that Gianluca Scamacca will be able to return to training this week,”  ITK WHUEmployee revealed on Patreon.

It’s a pleasant break in the run of regular nad injury news and thankfully Mikey Antonio’s form has been improving over recent weeks

The away trip to Spurs will probably come too soon for the 24-year-old Italian striker, but the home game against Nottingham Forrest at the London Stadium on 25th February will become a realistic target for the £35.5m summer transfer man.
