Shocking Irons stat but let’s not be haunted
I believe there will be a reaction and Slaven’s decision to let them out to sort things on their own over a meal was the right one…it’s the sort of thing that’s happened in the game for years.
Thy need to be angry but disciplined against Middleborough. I read the most alarming stat of the season so far the other day and it was this:
O that the Irons have had more shots against them in the penalty area than any other team in the League!
Slaven will have been doing nothing different this season to last but he’s being let down by the players and tomorrow they need to be away quickly. They have to get on the front foot from the start.
MIddlesborough will come looking for a clean sheet. That’s the way they set up and the Irons really must get amongst them because they have the players to wreak havoc.
Don’t expect an entertaining game although if we get one early anything could happen although I expect us to edge it 1-0 if I’m honest.
So far we have looked devoid of energy and committment but tomorrow they have to find the edge to turn things around.
These are very highly paid people and it’s why many can’t get to the top of this game. You need to be dedicated to the 100th degree, you have to have that energy and stamina to dig in and turn things ound when it’s really tough.
And all of us should expect nothing less than that tomorrow.
