Sicknote is back!

Andy Carroll is set to return to English football, as per The Reading Chronicle.

The newspaper reports that the striker is poised to join Reading as he makes his return to English football.

Carroll has sustained no fewer than 23 injuries throughout his career and was particularly prone to issues during his time with the Hammers.

A former Liverpool and England centre-forward, Carroll was on the books at Reading at the start of last season, spending around six months with the club before eventually moving to West Brom and linking up with Steve Bruce. He was released at the end of the season.

The Hammers sicknote is now said to be closing in on a return to the Royals, as they look to add firepower to their squad.

Carroll scored twice in eight appearances for Reading during his stint at the club last season, and they will be hoping he can avoid injury as they bid to climb the Championship table.
