Sky pundit Paul Merson predicts that West Ham’s evening game this Sunday against Chelsea will be a bridge too far for the away team.

Merson writing on the Sky Sports website said: “It’s a big game but I do fancy Chelsea. After last week, though West Ham had a good result, it’s a huge game for Chelsea. Chelsea have to put a show on for their fans after last week against Tottenham. That was a disaster. Fair play to West Ham last week, to turn up in major pressure. It’s unbelievable. For me, I just think this is a game too far for them.”

Chelsea sits in fifth place in the Premier League table in the Europa qualification spot eight points behind Spurs in fourth place.  With West Ham in 14th place, David Moyes could see the game as a free hit and he has nothing to lose by going.
