Slav to wrestle with cup-tied issue

Slaven Bilic will be sweating on James Tomkins being fit for the weekend trip to Liverpool given that Sam Byram is cup-tied.

Sam is ineligible following his involvement in Leeds United’s 3rd round tie against Rotherham and could leave the manager with a problem on the right side.

Carl Jenkinson is also injured but of course his current form may be an even bigger issue as the position – which has been a headache all season until Tomkins fitted into the role – is continuing to cause real difficulties.

It maybe that fit-again Joey O’Brien could get his first call up of the season.

Slaven has admitted he will be taking the FA Cup very seriously which was demonstrated amusingly in a recent video when he brought gales of laughter from the media while holding an imaginary cup over his head and insisting he’d sooner win that than qualify for the Champions League.

Victor Moses is likely to get a start and Angelo Ogbonna may be recalled to give James Collins a rest after his fine recent League performances.
