Slav’s bizarre Randolph explanation

Slaven Bilic has dropped a heavy hint that Darren Randolph will retain the goalkeeping sweater for the game against Everton at the weekend.

Despite a desperate performance against Sunderland and errors which clearly lost the team two points it seems the manager’s view is that change is not such a good idea.

Randolph’s displays have been a worrying feature of our  recent games and he has come in for condemnation from many fans.

But in a bizarre explanation of his position the manager says he doesn’t like changing the keeper on a hame to game basis!

That’s a hard one to fathom given the stopper has been between the sticks since the late 3-2 defeat against Spurs back last  November.

Slav’s precise quote from the official site’s Manager on Monday column reads: “Some journalists asked me about whether I am going to change my goalkeeper again after Saturday’s game.

I told them I don’t like to change goalkeepers on a game-to-game basis. Darren Randolph had been waiting for his chance for a long time, and he has done well for us.

We have to stay behind our players, especially goalkeepers, so that’s it.

We will look back over the Sunderland game and see what we can do better to avoid the same situations occurring.

We have five matches left, three of them at home, and we will now prepare for Everton and work to finish as high in the table as we can.”

For me? Uncnvicing and bizarre
