Snodgrass attracts interest

West Ham are understood to have received an informal inquiry for Robert Snodgrass from Brighton and Hove Albion.

The Scotland international and former Hull City midfielder joined the Irons for £7 million in January but was bitterly disappointing during the last half of the season.

The club are ready to unload and although there has been no formal offer we understand there have been off the record talks about the possibility of him being of interest to the newly promoted south coast club.

The Seagulls boss and former Hammers defender Chris Hughton needs to strengthen his squad big time and Snodgrass is seen as the type of seasoned Premier League player to seriously help his cause.

With Slaven Bilic understood to prefer Sofiane Fegouli on the right side, an offer for Snodgrass which sees the Irons recoup the fee they paid Hull for the 30 year old would almost certainly be acceptable to the Hammers.
