West Ham loanee Robert Snodgrass gave Karren Brady the perfect answer to her criticism of his abilities at West Ham by firing the winner for Aston Villa at Middlesbrough today.

The Scottish winger, bought last winter for £8 million, has been regularly knocked by the board at the London Stadium but is proving a big success at Villa Park.

His goal today goal saw the midland outfit hit seventh place just outside the play off zone.

Snodgrass scored in the 75th minute to ensure that Brady’s comments were perhaps the worst timed of the day after she had named him in her Sun column.

Commenting on the Hammers’ transfer policy over the past few seasons she had said: ”  “We’ve paid for ill-fitting players. Robert Snodgrass wasn’t exactly a triumph, while Hammers fans could name several foreign players who added little.”

Some might say she had pointed the finger at the Hammers rather than the player but as he remains on our staff it’s a dubious comment at best and can do little to help his transfer fee should David Moyes believe his fellow Scot  needs to be moved on permanently.

Snodgrass was also named by David Sullivan publicly recently when he revealed his kids had begged him not to sign him.

The Scottish winger gave a perfect response when saying : “Thank you Mr Chairman!”

He will probably have been even more pleased with his response to Brady.
