CandH’s regular Playerwatch reporter Danny Leach puts a horror show under his microscope

10 – GOAL – 1-0 – Barnes pokes the ball right past him to put the home side in the lead

17 – Catches comfortably a potent shot from range by McNeil

28 – Comes out of his goal to play a ball near the half way line as Burnley clear the ball away

43 – GOAL – 2-0 – Roberto throws the ball out to Balbuena who loses it to McNeil after a horrendous first touch. McNeil, through on goal, crosses the ball to Wood who puts it past Roberto as he made a very poor attempt at saving the shot

54 – GOAL – 3-0 – Roberto scores an own goal after he makes a terrible punch on the ball to send it spinning right behind him into the net

58 – Gets down to his near post to save Wood’s shot after shrugging off Balbuena

59 – Punches the ball away from a corner and makes a great save to stop Bardsley’s follow up shot going into the bottom left corner

61 – Puts the ball over the bar after a powerful shot by Wood’s

62 – A fourth goal by Burnley from a corner is ruled out after Barnes pushes Roberto as Mee puts the ball in the net

71 – Balbuena heads a ball out for a corner despite having the option to give it back to a hesitant Roberto

82 – Saves a curling shot in to the top corner by Hendricks near the edge of the box

Verdict – 2 – He was one of the main villains in our team today in a display which was incredibly difficult to find words for. He made unforgivable errors for all three of Burnley’s goal. Despite making a few decent saves, his continued errors in goals are painful to watch and he is simply not a suitable replacement for Fabianski. The continued vocal taunting by the Burnley fans and the fact that his own team mate Balbuena did not trust him enough to head the ball back to him demonstrates how humiliating his performance was.
