Graeme Souness has plugged into the ‘let’s have a pop at West Ham’ brigade by questioning why Marko Arnautovic is playing for the Irons.

The old Liverpool sourpuss took a leaf out of Mark Lawrenson’s book in the build-up to today’s game on Sky  by asking the question.

He said: “No disrespect to West Ham but my only question mark against him is why is he playing for West Ham with the ability he has got.

“He has everything sufficient to play at the highest level so why is he at  the club.”

Arnautovic became the centre of the pundits’ conversation when it became clear that a calf injury would keep him out of today’s game after hopes had been high he would make the game.

Instead Michail Antonio is presented with the chance of linking up with Andriy Yarmolenko and Felipe Anderson up top in a team otherwise unchanged from the win over Everton.

Team: Fabianski, Zaba, Balbuena, Diop, Masuaku; Anderson, Noble, Obiang, Rice, Yarmolenko, Antonio
