London Stadium owners have admitted they are no longer actively looking for a naming rights partner for the London Stadium.

LLDC CEO David Goldstone told the Assembly yesterday: “We are not actively marketing the (naming) rights, in the context of securing rights of a major venue of this sort it is often a long-term process. It is a process that takes other venues a considerable amount of time. I don’t think being in the market for one year is unusual in that context but we are not actively marketing it at the moment because of issues around future structure, ownership  and operating model and what its really going to look like which will come out of all the decisions we have been touching on”

However, Goldstone did say ” We have had a number of enquiries, unprompted from very significant brands who want to come and talk to us to start exploring the possibility, that has happened over the last few weeks”

The LLDC has previously failed to conclude naming rights deals with Mahindra and Vodafone.

David Goldstone will soon step down in his role of CEO of LLDC to join the the Ministry of Defence.
