And in doing so can probably expect to face some ‘lack of class’ criticism – certainly from us!
We have no idea whether there’s any ‘previous’ between himself and Slaven Bilic but this is the second time he appears to have had little compunction in undermining the Hammers boss.
The first was when he claimed that Reece Oxford was surprised at the intensity of training at Reading, implying therefore that his may not be the case at West Ham
Now. instead perhaps of showing a little respect to an under pressure fellow manager, he has chosen to comment on himself being linked with the West Ham job.
He is quoted on http://www.calciomercato.com/en as saying: “I am aware of it. That is what happens. What happens next season happens next season. It is nice to be recognised. I do not know if it is true – everyone wants recognition.”
Given the circumstances – and ClaretandHugh has been assured there is no truth in the link at all by it’s own sources – a simple ‘no comment’ would have been the better and more dignified response perhaps.
