Stoke City reject improved bids for Arnautovic

The Daily Mirror’s Darren Lewis claims that West Ham have had a fresh bid worth £17million rejected by Stoke for striker Marko Arnautovic.

The 28-year-old joined the Potters from Werder Bremen four seasons ago for just £2 million. But Stoke want as much as £25million for him the well-connected journolist. claims. West Ham returned with a renewed offer after having an initial bid of £15m turned down.

Arnautovic has already handed a transfer request earlier this week after the first bid failed.

Meanwhile, the Telegraph claims that Stoke City have rejected an improved bid of around £20million from West Ham for Marko Arnautovic.

They say West Ham returned with a second offer for the Austria international today but it was turned down by the Stoke hierarchy, who are adopting a stubborn stance as they bid to keep one of their star players. The broadsheet claims West Ham will have to pay a substantial fee if they are to prise the 28-year-old away from the bet365 Stadium. Arnautovic has three years remaining on his £75,000 a week contract.

Mark Hughes, the manager, insisted this week that his club hold the advantage and said that Arnautovic should consider staying at Stoke for the good of his career.
