David Sullivan has revealed that Mauro Zarate will only be allowed to leave the club if the injury situation allows it.

Talking to Sky Sports the chairman said: “Mauro wants first team football and he realises if everyone is available then he may be a little bit down the batting order.”

“So it is just possible that we would let him go but at this moment in time, we can’t let anybody go until we see our injury situation because we have got so many strikers injured.”

“We don’t really want to let anybody go but you also don’t want unhappy players, so it is striking that balance and doing what’s best for the player and best for the club”

Zarate has missed the last two matches against Bournemouth and Newcastle. He has been linked with Malaga and Fiorentina in recent days.

ClaretandHugh revealed earlier that Fiorentina are interested in a loan deal but quoted our own sources as explaining injuries may rule out a move and that the club are not interested in  loan deals.
