David Sullivan has declared he will “stay schtuum” for the rest of the season after his war of words with Charlie Austin.

According to London Evening Standard, the Irons co-chairman won’t be talking to the media again once he has fulfilled  pre-existing commitments over the course of the next week.

The 66-year-old made the vow after his comments about Austin on a West Ham fans’ podcast made the headlines and were met with a furious response from the QPR forward.

West Ham have been constantly linked to the striker since QPR’s relegation from the top-flight – even though this site has consistently maintained a deal will never happen and citing a failed medical and further alleged injury problems as major stumbling blocks.

Austin hit back saying: “I feel I have no option but to address the inaccurate, misleading and uninformed innuendo.”
