Supporters have their say on digital season tickets
West Ham supporters have had their say on the proposal to introduce digital season tickets next season to replace plastic access cards.
The club says they are following all government and SGSA guidance to mitigate the spread of the virus, including supporting social distancing and taking all of the necessary steps to keep people safe.
Current SGSA guidance states that, where possible, tickets should be designed to allow for contactless access to the ground.
In a snap poll of over 5,000 supporters, the majority want plastic access cards retained
The Twitter poll of 5,030 fans shows that 31.1% are happy to embrace technology in using mobile phones as the tool to enter the London Stadium, another 25.5% want to keep plastic access cards while the remaining 43.4% want the option of either using a smartphone or a plastic access card.
Previously West Ham has offered contactless plastic access cards and print at home bar codes which are also considered contactless so it difficult to understand why they could not be retained in addition to a new mobile app for those who want it.
