One West Ham supporter has vowed to take UEFA to court to demand financial compensation for their potential loss after today’s surprise late announcement over the fans ban for the Rapid Vienna game.

Supporters can use the European small claims court online system to make a claim against the European football authority

One supporter who is planning to do just that and asked not to be named said their claim will be based on the fact that UEFA’s surprise sanctions are below a commercially acceptable standard of service from a governing body and therefore they should refund supporters their out of pockets expenses. Once tickets have sold they should be honoured as the buyer had spent money on travel and hotels etc the supporter said.

Just one successful claim against the football body could create an avalanche of similar legal claims.

Claret and Hugh have been inundated by emails of supporters upset this evening and left seriously out of pocket to the tune of around £500 per person.

This website has also contacted our own legal advisors to share advice on what West Ham fans affected by this injustice can do to recover any money should the sanctions not be overturned.
