Ten thousand supporters who attended the West Ham v Southampton game at the London Stadium on the last day of the season are to get their ticket booking fee refunded by the club.  The Independent Supporters’ Committee (ISC) met with senior club officials including Vice-Chairman Karren Brady this week

The ISC brings together supporter representatives from across the club’s fanbase: BAME (Lee Vehit), bondholders (Steve Applebee), Disabled Supporters (Cathy Bayford), Hammers United (Andy McConnell), Over 65s (Don Adams), Pride of Irons (Jim Dolan), West Ham United Independent Supporters’ Association (Sue Watson) and West Ham United Supporters’ Club (Paul Christmas).

Asked at the supporters’ meeting whether the club would consider refinding the booking fee element Karren Brady responded positively and committed to refunding fans within the next seven days.

Every season ticket holder who attended the Southampton match paid a £2 booking fee, usually the admin fee taken by Ticket Master for processing the tickets.

The goodwill gesture will cost the club £20,000 as Ticketmaster will still retain their booking fee.
