Takeover: The facts

There is precious little chance of a West Ham takeover being completed any time soon.

There were reports over the weekend, stemming from the Sunday People, which suggested that owners David Gold and David Sullivan were “motoring ahead” with a sale amid the Hammers’ poor form.

The natural buyer, as reported by the paper, is Daniel Kretinsky.

However, we can confirm that top sources at the club have told us that these reports simply aren’t true.

The Hammers are focused on the January transfer window and the team, with David Moyes being challenged to turn the Hammers’ dismal form around in a bid to stay in the Premier League.

There are no discussions currently taking place over a proposed sale of the club, and any suggestion that a deal is close are simply nonsense.

Of course, it is impossible to rule out a potential sale eventually but to suggest that it is going to happen soon is just not the case.
