The Chicharito problem!

Hailed as the signing of the summer, Javier Hernandez has had a lean time at West Ham this season to the point where his summer exit is being freely discussed.

Here’s how ClaretandHugh’s followers feel about Chicharito’s future:

O Another striker disaster. It is still possible that Hernandez could be okay with a partner. Before his injury he scored a few, even in the shapeless shambles that was Bilic’s set up.

O No doubt he’s a top goal scorer and playing up top on your own is not easy. However, for me he doesn’t hassle enough.

O Chica  will never win headers or many contested balls in the area. His strength has always been feeding off the scraps the bigger players give him.  He definitely has a place in our team if we can play him with big Arnie and maybe Ayew or a new big man up front.

O Problem being we don’t play to Chic’s strengths. er, brought in individuals with no over-arching game plan or vision, so we’ve bits of three different jigsaws that just won’t fit.

O I think he’s a very good striker when playing with a strike partner. However we don’t, which was why I didn’t see him as a great signing as he can’t play that lone striker role.
O I’m not convinced Moyes is a fan of the player so I’d expect him to move on come the summer. I do rate him but he’s not a good fit for how we play sadly.
O Looking like another poor signing I’m sorry to say . That’s a shame as I really rate him .
