The most important Irons summer for many years

So the list of games against Brighton goes from seven to eight without a win!

Even the return of Declan Rice – looking nearly as good as ever – failed to break the hoodoo.

But the slip in form over the last five games really shouldn’t come as surprise as it has happened to every team in the Prem during this strange season.

Even Manchester City weren’t at the best in the early games and of course the likes of  Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs and most others have had their slumps.

It’s just that ours have come at precisely the wrong time with Champions League a real possibility.

However, terrific though it would be I have mentioned in the past that it may just be that as David Moyes said during a recent presser we have been shooting for the stars.

Should we fail to make it I believe it will show clearly that a size of ours it would have been  problematical excursion into the game at the highest level.

This may be then most important summer we have entered for in many years.

We have seen what is possible under this manager and right recruitment for which the boss has often been famed will see us well and truly on our way over the next few seasons.
