The exciting signing of Chicharito has not been welcomed by every West Ham supporter. A handful of fans made silly online wagers on social media believing the Hammers would never sign the 29-year-old Mexican in a million years.

Ben Pattison said on twitter on 14th July “If West Ham sign Javier Hernandez I will give everyone who retweets this tweet a fiver and Hernandez top.”

That message was retweeted 1,278 times. With the cost of a named Chicharito shirt at £64.50 it means would need to fork out £88,821 to honour his online wager.

Another fan called Vinnie said on 5th July “If Chicarito signs, I will give everyone who retweets this £20.”

That message was retweeted 376 times meaning he would have to pay out £7,520 to honour his bet with his online followers.

Fan George Wall was less generous in his online offer. On 17th July he said “If we sign Hernandez I will give everyone who Retweets this a bag of beef hula hoops”

That message was retweeted 167 times so will only cost him £47.60 if he bulk buys from Tescos.

Finally, West Ham fan Brad messaged Chairman’s son Jack Sullivan on 10th July saying “If your dad manages to pull off both Hernandez and Arnautovic I’ll get a tattoo of his face on my arse”

Since last night’s confirmed signing both Jack Sullivan and Dave Sullivan Junior have offered to pay for the tattoo and it appears Brad has agreed to honour his promise.
